I heard that everything is on sale - everything must go. Though obviously in this case the clips went first (without authorisation, haha).

If only the government would consider connecting this line to the KTMB ECL, or a through east-west line (KL - Kuantan).

Yalah, the Gov if they are bright enough, they can consider re-using this railway track connecting to big towns and ports which in return gives back profit in terms of economic growth on under-developed region in the east coast sector (if the truck and lorry owner organisation didn't play shit asking Gov as cronies to halt train services which they claimed putting sands into their rice bowls). The land however has vast railway reserve land that can accomodate double-track or triple track which is ideal for future upgrade.
